To foster positive relationships, enhance social-emotional learning, support trauma-sensitive practices- creating a strong sense of community and culture. At East, we have students grouped into a K-5 Family, where they meet once a month for 30 minutes. Beginning each month, we have an all-school assembly which teaches students an important lesson. Some examples of our themes include ambition, thankfulness, honesty, and many others. Our families learn about these important themes and lessons follow to help students actively learn more about each topic with a goal to help improve social and emotional understanding with all of our students.
