Balanced & Dept. Scorecard Reports

Dr. Rainey Briggs, Superintendent of the Baraboo School District, and members of the Administrative Team presented the end-of-year BSD Balanced Scorecard, as well as Department Scorecards at the July 10th Board of Education meeting. This year BSD implemented a strategic framework focused on the ‘19-’22 Strategic Directions to ensure that the District's initiatives lead to the achievement of the core beliefs and, ultimately, the mission. The District uses a balanced scorecard framework to plan, manage, and report on performance improvement strategies, and the Department Scorecards and school building Continuous Improvement Plans are the roadmaps staff use to achieve our goals. In his presentation to the Board, Dr. Briggs stated that there are no excuses because excuses do not get things done and district leaders will continue to focus on initiatives that have a direct impact on students and staff, and are part of the Continuous School Improvement process. Dr. Briggs said, “We will continue to lay our eyes, our thoughts, our focus ensuring that we do and change things to better support [students, families, and staff].”

Dr. Briggs also explained that the fall survey was completed this year for baseline data. A survey will not be administered in Fall 2023. Rather the survey will be released in Spring 2024 to measure the growth made during School Year 2023-24. “We will do some things in a year’s span that will allow our families…our kids, and staff to really make some connections.” He went on to say, “We want to be sure that kids and families have ample time to join in and experience things.”

Dr. Briggs and members of the Administrative Team will present on the 2023-26 Strategic Plan at the August 14th Board of Education meeting.
